Please Pray for Baby Aliza!
Though I do not know this family personally, I am
a parent, a human and a Christian, which means I know beauty, I know love, I
know gain, I know loss, I know sacrifice...in other words I know all I need to
know about the family...and you will also.On August 23rd, 2007, a little 4-year-old girl named Aliza slipped and fell into the family pool. From that moment on, the Schwab family would never be the same. Though paramedics were able to get Aliza's little heart beating again, she could not breathe on her own nor can she breathe on her own today. She remains in a coma.
Her family, the Schwabs, are God-loving Jewish people who refuse to "pull the plug" on their little girl. They believe that as long as Aliza's heart continues beating and as long as Aliza's organs continue working, she is still alive and there is still a chance.
Just yesterday (Oct 3, 2007), local media outlets came flocking to south Florida's Jackson Memorial Hospital as the Schwabs got the okay from doctors to bring their sleeping Aliza home...ventilator and all. Her family could not be more grateful...and for good reason.
Watching video of the Schwabs speaking, laughing and even singing to their sleeping beauty is heart wrenching yet profoundly beautiful. Theirs is a perfect demonstration of the power and purpose of love, hope and promise.
Whether we are Christian, Jewish or anything else, all God-loving people should stick together during times like these. I beg that you say a prayer for Aliza, her family, and all others we know nothing about, then please consider sending a check to the address below to help ease the pain from medical bills.
